With its potential and strength in tourism and distinctive cultural features, The U.S. magazine Travel+Leisure has named Thua Thien Hue one of the destinations that should not be missed to visit in Asia in 2024.
According to the experts of Travel+Leisure, Thua Thien Hue is the perfect place to relax and track the past while touring Vietnam. The U.S. magazine suggested that visitors should enjoy trips to a number of tombs of the Nguyen dynasty kings, and sacred temples such as Thien Mu, Tu Dam, and Huyen Khong Son Thuong, followed by a visit to Hue Imperial City – the ancient capital of the Nguyen Dynasty.
It also advises tourists to enjoy a boat tour along the Perfume River to contemplate the beauty of the two riverbanks, as well as listen to Hue folk songs. Additionally, Ho Quyen Arena where vestiges of battles between elephants and tigers has been well- preserved is one of the unique relics of Vietnam.
Other destinations included in the list are Palawan (Philippines), Takayama (Japan), Red Sea (Saudi Arabia), Incheon (the Republic of Korea), Pak Chong (Thailand), Zhangjiajie (China), St. John’s Island (Singapore), Kratie (Cambodia), and Cameron Highlands (Malaysia), Mirissa (Sri Lanka), Meghalaya (India), Ras Al Khaimah (United Arab Emirates) and Taipei (Taiwan, China).
