With the consent of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, from May 21, 2024 to May 29, 2024, Hue city working group has visited Lausanne, Switzerland led by Mr.Vo Le Nhat, Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People's Committee to attend the General Assembly of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF); signed a cooperation agreement with Namur city (Kingdom of Belgium), worked with EURASIA Association (Switzerland) and visited and worked with the city of Blois (French Republic).

Hue City has been a member city of the AIMF Association since 1992, and is highly appreciated for its role as an active and dynamic member in the Association's activities, has received many AIMF sponsored projects in many different fields such as culture, education, environment, urban infrastructure and staff training... In addition to participating in the official activities of the Conference program, the Hue city delegation had a working session with the Secretariat of the AIMF Association to evaluate the effectiveness of cooperation projects between the parties as well as orient areas of cooperation in the future.
The 44th AIMF General Assembly in Lausanne city elected Hue city to the AIMF Executive Committee for the 2024 - 2026 term and decided to choose Hue city as the location to organize the 45th AIMF General Assembly in 2025. This will be an opportunity for Hue city to exchange and promote the image of Hue city to 325 member cities from 54 countries around the world.
On the sidelines of the Conference, in Lausanne city, Hue city and Namur city re-signed the cooperation agreement for the period 2024-2029 with the goal of supporting the foreign policy and strengthening international cooperation of the two Francophone cities to contribute to the overall development of the Francophone Community in the fields of: cultural exchange, preservation and promotion of heritage values; green space planning; Promote the establishment of the "Hue - Smart and Sustainable" center with the support of the AIMF Association.

In Blois city, the Hue city delegation had a working session with the Mayor of Blois city and colleagues at City Hall to strengthen cooperation between the two cities on the basis of the twinning cooperation agreement signed in 2007.
